Betty L. Brandt, 96, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away Dec. 12, 2006. Betty was born Dec. 17, 1909, in Falmouth, Ky., to Raymond and Minnie Wright. She married Edward C. Brandt in 1933 in Coeur d’Alene. Betty came to Spokane with her parents in 1912. She was educated in Spokane at Lewis and Clark High School and Comtometer School. |

Betty was an accounts payable clerk at Montgomery Ward for many years. She also worked at Dairygold. Betty was an 81-year member of the Community of Christ Church in Coeur d’Alene, a lifetime member and past president of the VFW Aux. #51. She was a past president of the WWI Aux. and past president of WWI Widows Chapter 10, as well as a past district president. |

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nina L. and James F. Rider of Rathdrum, Doris A. and Norman L. Oleson of Hayden; four grandchildren, Joni Cassell of Chattaroy, Wash., Jeanne Settle of Spokane, Steven L. Lewis of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kathleen Kantrud of East Sound, Wash.; two step-granddaughters, Laurie Ross of St. Petersburg, Russia, and Nancy Cremuda of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren, Nicole Lewis of Glendale, Ariz., Kortney Finocchiaro of Reading, Pa., Taryn Harrell of Colorado Springs, Colo., Chase Brandt Kantrud of East Sound, Wash.; one great-great granddaughter, Dakota Jean Finocchiaro of Reading, Penn. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and special friends, Hae Cha Song and her daughter, Suzanne, of Spokane. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Edward (1979); brothers, Kenneth and Louis; and a sister, Lois Brown. |
