Shirley A. Albrecht |
On October 14, 2009, Shirley lost her battle with cancer and quietly went home to her heavenly Father. She is survived by her three children (and spouses): Sharon (Tod Gosselin), Michael (Micki), and Wanda (Tim Clifford); along with her sister, Donna Lewis; and brother, Wayne Folden. Her extended family includes three in-laws, 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. |
Shirley was born in Missouri Valley, Iowa on June 20, 1928. She moved to Polson, MT in 1932, where she met and married her husband of 62 years, Robert Albrecht. They moved to Spokane in 1954 where they lived the rest of their lives. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Robert. |
She was a loving wife and mother. Shirley loved her family and church. She enjoyed the family gatherings in her home and at the special place on the Pend Oreille River known to the family as “The Property”. Shirley always opened her home to family and friends needing a place to stay, a meal, or just a warm welcome. She looked forward to the weekly domino nights shared by friends and family. |
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service in Shirley’s honor at the Community of Christ Church at 11515 E. Broadway in Spokane Valley on Saturday, November 7, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow. A private graveside service will be held for family earlier that morning. The family is requesting that donations be given in Shirley’s name to the Community of Christ Church. |

“When I come to the end of the day and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love we once shared. Miss me, but let me go. |
